The Last Day

Carah Aufdemberge is doing great

For those who heard or didn't here, to day we had a bit of a scare on the tubing run...the Bravo Company was on the river tubing and Carah Aufdemberge fell off her tube and hit a rock on her hip. Connie Sides (an ER nurse )was there and gave her immediate first aide...and a  trip to the ER. After it is all said and done...no hip fracture...no internal bleeding only a bruise. Praise God.  Carah is not going to be doing any land speeds record breaking until her hip has healed up. Keep her in your prayers.  And lift up the DRG response team...they responded and acted with extreme speed and professionalism...top shelf attitudes and work ethic!

DRG 2009 day 4ish

The Kids are having a blast and growing in the Lord

Here is the schedule
Generally....

7:45 get up
8:15 Morning worship
9 Breakfast
10 Team building
noon lunch
2:30-5:30 High adventure
6 PM Supper
8 Worship (great worship and the students are gleaming points of interest from the speakers...who says church has to be 1 hour long?)
10 Canteen time
11:15 All In  and devos the kids are sharing their hearts and loving on each other...building some nice relationship
12 Lights out

We are all really tired, exhausted and yet energized and focused at the same time.

Last night for the Canteen time they had a beach party with music that you could move your body to the beat with (not dancing) which was done really well...they played appropriate secular songs and good Christian music, Paul Keihl started the dance circle and WOWed eastern TN with some sweet moves. We also got to throw balloons at the counselors as they came down the zip line. Good clean fun.

Trying to cordinate...

We have 3 teams of students, so I am trying to coordinate schedules to get pictures from all groups...please be patient.  I am also loading the pictures up on facebook ( I know not everyone has one) but I can load up the picture in 2 min and then get back to the kids or I can load them on the blog and take 90 min...I am trying to spend the most time with the kids that I can...I will post the pictures on the blog when I get back and have time to let the computer sit on my desk and do other things and come back to it...if you need to see pictures right away...set up a fake Facebook if you don't want to get into that world for anything other then seeing the pictures or wait until I can post them after camp...trying to make all ends meet and bless all that are involved.

Day 3 a View From Kayla

Yesterday our team completed the vertical challenge course, which was really really fun. It's an obstacle course which goes straight up in the air, 65 feet up. It symbolized the journey Christ made on his way to the cross. once you had reached the tree house on the top, you walked across a narrow rope bridge above the creek called "The Way". It was absolutely amazing.

Day 2 at Camp

Lots of action today at AIC

#1 Alpha Company (9-10 grade girls) got to do the High Ropes course...every one climb to the heights over 45' in the air...Very Fun...Very Challenging.

#2 Bravo Company (8-9 graders Boys and Girls) went to the Via Ferata (spelling?) which are some wire bridges and mountain staple climbs on the side of a cliff 20-40' above a river. Everybody conquered it.
Keep Sandi Kiehl in your prayers for healing and peace of heart...on the way done one of the VERY large hills it started to poor down hard and Sandi twisted her ankle and on a crutch for now...we (and she) are bummed...hoping for a quick comeback.

#3 Charlie Company went White water tubing...read post below by Tyler Aufranc.

Tonight they presented the Gospel message and we shared testimonies in our cabins...I have not heard back from the other groups yet...but it has proven to be very fruitful for Charlie Company boys...our Couslers Adam and David are top shelf...and realy relate to the boys.
